Are you and your family skills ready for the future? Is your child future-ready for a very different working world? Are they digitally smart and know how to successfully navigate a complex online environment?
1 in 3 parents doesn’t believe their child is being prepared for the workforce for the future. Is this you? With the impact the ‘double-disruption’ of the pandemic and increasing automation of jobs is having on the future world of work, our young people will need enterprise & leadership skills never before anticipated. We need an innovative generation of young people who can be the leaders and changemakers of tomorrow.
Did you know that by 2030 (or earlier) everyone will need to spend 30% more time learning on the job and almost 100% more time at work solving problems? Emerging skills in self-management will take on new importance for a resilient workforce with an entrepreneurial mindset. Young people need to become smarter at learning and smart thinkers to successfully thrive and succeed in the world.
Today I’m writing this post to tell you about the Teen Quest Microschool which has been designed to address this challenge. It focuses on delivering a personalised learning experience for young people from 10 to 24 years old to help them develop critical innovative and creative thinking skills so they are future-ready. The program will run for 4 weeks, and they will be separated into three age groups: Juniors, Seniors, and Graduates.
What is included in the Teen Quest microschool:
Four Weeks of Mentoring (with Step-by-Step Guide)
Certified educators with the Genius School will guide the students to develop and apply future-ready skills to design, create and present a persuasive, purpose-based message that reflects their unique talents and capabilities. Monday, Wednesday and Friday students will access a short video module on each day and be supported by our educators in the group space for collaborative discussion. Tuesday and Thursday will be live interactive sessions with our educators, with 2 daily streams available to suit a worldwide audience.
During this time, the students will get the support and guidance to plan their new purpose-based project as they develop their key essential skills for their lifelong learning and earning journey.
Access to online learning resources and environments
The Teen Quest learning portal will provide a rich repository of resources in multiple formats to suit individual learning needs. This portal will continue to be available after the Teen Quest so each student can access the tools, templates, videos and documents to apply to other life scenarios.
Teen Dynamics for Young People Profile & a Talent Dynamics profile for adults
With the Teen Dynamics for Young People Profile, each student will get to understand how they learn, lead, communicate and create flow best using their natural skills and capabilities. They will understand their unique strengths, talents and learning styles, helping them to learn the essential skills needed to thrive in a rapidly changing world.
The microschool will run from 13th September to 8th October and require one hour online Monday to Friday.
It’s time we had a different educational system that taught everyone how to learn and not what to learn.
On top of learning how to improve their chances at success with a personal purpose-based project, for four weeks the Genius School team will be helping them do the following:
Develop their Digital Literacy Skills (learn how to effectively and successfully navigate the digital information landscape as a responsible global citizen).
Connect with Like-Minded Peers in a Global Community (engage with a peer group, enjoy interactive activities, and develop their global collaborative and interpersonal skills).
Gain Future-Ready Skills (develop essential skills to ensure they can survive and thrive in their future world).
“Young people, when informed and empowered, when they realise that what they do truly makes a difference, can indeed change the world.” ~ Jane Goodall.
